LEA11 Opening of "Glass Jars" Installation by Art Oluja

Sun, 04/02/2017 - 23:48
Take a deep breath, dip into the water, and open your mind…_________________________________________________________________
Glass Jars is an experimental narrative, where space contains emotions and memories in a fluid mindscape. Where fragments of nostalgia nest into vessels, drifting between glimpses of clarity and obscure dreams.
“We comfort ourselves by reliving memories of protection. Something closed must retain our memories, while leaving them their original value as images.”
― Gaston Bachelard, The Poetics of Space
Much of the inspiration for Glass Jars comes from G. Bachelard’s “The Poetics of Space,” R. Grudin’s Time and The Art of Living,” and a short animation film called “The House of Small Cubes.” The installation incorporates some interactive elements that react as you explore and click things. Region windlight is also recommended.
Sound is an important aspect of Glass Jars, so please turn viewer “sounds” on (and up). All of the narration, sound scaping and music you hear around the region are designed from scratch, specifically for this project, and are the result of a collaborative experiment with intuitively talented Klaus Bereznyak, who uses percussion and woodwind to creatively reflect the vision and concept of Glass Jars.
More details about Glass Jars, our sound scaping collaboration, and Klaus’s own perspective are in the welcome poster.

ART IS RHYTHM LEA13                                         OPENING                       MARCH 15TH   2PM SL Time PST                                   BY DUNA GANTI always used memories from my RL life as a source of inspiration for my SL artwork. The collages I do, my travels, the sea, my pictures, my artistic preferences, etc.
For the sim rendering, I got inspired by my conté pencil and charcoal drawings on paper. A 2D in which lights and shadows are seeking the volume this medium do not have. I therefore used flat prims as brushstrokes.
Shadows provide volume to the flat medium, allowing all my artwork to become 3D.
I choose the presented topics because they have always been three arts I felt very close to.

Sincere gratitude for the participation of  Daco, Kicca, Nessuno and Paola!
Because of their participation, this project is possible!
Thank you so very much!

LEA 17 Angry Gods - changing tableaux

Fri, 03/10/2017 - 20:47

LEA 17 - Angry Gods

The installations on LEA17 are tableaux intended to serve as photo sets. The scenes are to be used in a real-life book project (a sort of graphic novel). They are temporary and will change as the needs of the project progress.

Angry Gods is a journey through various post-life scenarios as represented by different religious or mythological traditions, and freely interpreted by the artist. One of the consistent features is the wanton destruction of each scene.by forces either evident or not. The large satanic cathedral is wired to explode, but will only do so under certain circumstances. Debris tends to cross sim boundaries despite all effort, so the detonations can only happen: 1. when the artist is present, 2. there are no (or very few) avatars on adjacent sims, and 3. the visitor sits on a particular object.

There are signs to indicate roughly what the scenes represent, but they will ultimately only make sense in the context of the final book project. I have tried, nonetheless, to make it entertaining for the casual visitor.

Scene One is in its final phases of photography and much (if not all) of the scene on ground level will be removed within the next week or so.. This will be your last chance to see the builds in their full 3D glory!

"I colori della perdita e la guarigione" è una collaborazione artistica di iSkye Silverweb con Anhue Heartlight, dove iSkye presenta un'espressione visiva e poetica, e Ahnue diffonde suono e ritmo in un viaggio attraverso la profondità della perdita e la comprensione curativa che l'amore continua. Supporto creativo di Dubhna Rhiadra.

I would like to invite you to come to my art opening at the Linden Endowment for the Arts sim LEA6, named The Colours of Loss & Healing.

If you have experienced a personal loss of someone, be it human or animal, a kindred soul, a much loved being - you are invited to come and participate in this journey I share through the loss of my own kindred soul of 21 years, Sunny, in a process that may likely echo your own. Being living beings of love and light we all experience these things, and come to a realisation that while we may have 'lost' those we love, we never really lose them. We always have their love.

- iSkye Silverweb
